My journey to date:

  • I’m a fully qualified life coach and I am insured, supervised and a member of the National Council of Psychotherapists.
  • I am an ICF coach with PCC credentials.
  • I have my Permaculture Design Certificate (72 hours)
  • I have my own podcast called ‘What’s your thing?
  • I’ve got a PhD which looked at the impact of loss on boys and emotions
  • I have an MA in psychoanalysis (my dissertation was on cannabis psychosis)
  • Another MA in education with a focus on gender, class, race, child development and leadership
  • I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and another in Coaching (with distinction)
  • For over 25 years I have been learning about, training in and experiencing various therapeutic approaches including Transactional Analysisgestalt, person centred counselling, compassion based approaches, Somatic Experiencing for trauma, systems therapy at the Tavistock, emotional intelligence, solution focused approaches, positive psychology and stress management.
  • I first practiced meditation in India 30 years ago and continue to practice mindfulness, meditation and yoga.  I draw on a number of spiritual traditions in my coaching and life
  • I am a member of the British Wheel of Yoga and teach Yoga
  • I have been teaching meditation in schools for over 30 years.
  • I’ve presented at National Conferences on Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning
  • I am involved in Initial Teacher Training as part of the School Direct programme
  • I teach psychology A level and the Extended Project Qualification to sixth form students
  • I have been a Head of Year and and Head of Department
  • I have facilitated leadership training for the National College of School Leadership
  • I have volunteered in a children’s hospice and have learned about bereavement and mourning
  • I am researching women’s experiences of domestic abuse and have learned about all aspects of domestic abuse, narcissism and co-dependence. I want schools to become more aware of what domestic abuse is so they can better support children and families
  • I created free materials to support families living with Domestic Abuse
  • I offer coaching and materials for people at the end of a relationship
  • I offer coaching and training to help people feel less stressed and have put together some free materials
  • I’ve written academic materials, taught at three universities, worked in schools, coached company directors and CEOs.
  • I have written and taught my own under-graduate module on Personal and Social Learning
  • I work in schools and organisations coaching individuals and training groups 
  • I have level three Child Protection training
  • I have a current First Aid certificate
  • I wrote loads for the educational press: SecEd,  Innovate Your SchoolSchoolWell and Staffrm
  • I was the agony aunt and am a columnist on well being site MeMeMe.
  • I have a level 3 qualification in Indian Head massage and am insured
  • I have a level 2 qualification in Mental Health Awareness
  • I have my Mental Health First Aid with Adults and Mental Health First Aid with Children and Young People qualifications and have undertaken short courses in self-harm and suicide prevention.
  • I have written ‘Into the Woods‘ a book of fairy tales based on interviews with women who had escaped abusive relationships
  • I have been on various radio shows talking about domestic abuse
  • I blog for and have been a featured coach in Psychologies Magazine
  • I work for the Open University delivering 3 undergraduate courses on Children and Young People and research
  • I am the mother of 2.
