Let me not complain
If I were a pray-er, I would pray: ‘Let me not complain’
Let me not complain about my increased car diesel, heating oil, electricity costs.
Instead I will walk instead of drive
Zoom instead of travel far
Wear an extra layer of clothes to keep warm
Have shorter showers, fewer baths
appreciate the fuel I have
Let me not complain about emptier shop shelves
Instead I will home cook and freeze more
buy local, seasonal produce
appreciate the food I have
Let me not complain about my house
Instead I will tend it
enjoy it
share it with anyone who needs a home
and appreciate the warmth and safety I have
Let me not complain
for I am safe, and loved and warm
